Ran across this today. Camp Doniphan was a military base (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_base) adjacent to Fort Sill (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Sill), just outside Lawton (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawton,_Oklahoma), in Comanche County (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comanche_County,_Oklahoma) , Oklahoma (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma) , that was activated for use in World War I (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_I) for artillery (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artillery) training. The post was closed in 1918 and incorporated into Fort Sill.
